Mayor John Woods was sworn in for a second term and the rest of the 2009-11 Davidson Town Board took the oath of office at the monthly Town Board meeting Tuesday night. The brief meeting also included the election of Laurie Venzon – top vote getter in the Nov. 3 election – as mayor pro tempore, or pro tem, who fills in temporarily if the mayor is absent.
Newcomers Tim Dreffer and Connie Wessner took seats at the board platform, joining re-elected incumbents Ms. Venzon, Brian Jenest and Margo Williams. Read the full story

3 incumbents re-elected; Dreffer, Wessner to join the board
Updated 11 p.m. Davidson voters on Tuesday re-elected 3 incumbents (Laurie Venzon, Brian Jenest and Margo Williams) and added 2 newcomers to the Town Board – Tim Dreffer and Connie Wessner.

Time to vote
On Tuesday, Nov. 3, three polling stations for Davidson voters are open 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.:
- Town Hall, 216 S. Main St. – Voters in the old part of town.
- Hopewell Baptist Church, fellowship hall, 18841 Davidson-Concord Road. – Residents of McConnell, River Run, and other neighborhoods on the east side of town.
- Mt. Mourne Fire Department, 1577 Mecklenburg Highway (N.C. 115), Mooresville – for Lake Davidson Pointe area north of the Iredell County line.
