Police responded to two break-ins at buildings owned by Davidson United Methodist Church on South and Walnut streets March 21. On Thursday, someone tried to pass a counterfeit $100 bill at the Rushco Market, off I-77 Exit 30, while another suspect was issued a citation Sunday after he was accused of stealing a beer from the Rushco. And local driver struck a deer last week on N.C. 73 at Ramah Church Road. Details on these incidents and a tally of the week’s arrests, citations, and traffic enforcement may be found below. Since 1997, the Counseling Center at Davidson United Methodist Church has occupied a small brick house next to the church on South Main Street in Davidson that once served as the church’s parsonage. The young British classical vocal ensemble
Stile Antico, in the midst of a nine-concert U.S. tour, will make a stop in Davidson Tuesday night, Dec. 13, for a concert at Davidson United Methodist Church. The group performs without a conductor and will be signing a concert of Tudor music for Christmas and Advent from their latest CD, “Puer natus est.”
Tuesday’s concert begins at 7:30 p.m. at Davidson United Methodist Church, 233 S. Main St.

An army of young volunteers unloaded pumpkins from trucks Wednesday to stock the Great Pumpkin Patch for Missions at the Davidson United Methodist Church’s Molly McKay Youth House on South Main Street.
The Pumpkin Patch was scheduled to open Thursday, Sept. 29, at noon and run through Halloween, Monday, October 31st. Items for sale include pumpkins of all sizes, decorative corn, gourds, baked goods, and more. Proceeds will go toward youth mission trips at the church. Read the full story
