Monday is the Asian Lunar New Year, as the Year of the Dragon chases out the Year of the Rabbit. In Asia, the observance stretches to a week as people return home to visit friends and relatives and to feast. Davidson College’s Asian Culture Awareness Association sponsored its annual Lunar New Year celebration Sunday night. Revelers watched demonstrations of Asian dance and martial arts at the Alvarez College Union, then adjourned to Chambers Building lawn for a 13-minute fireworks display.
