The Children’s Schoolhouse 31st Annual Fall Carnival will fill the Davidson Village Green this Saturday, Oct. 20, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
As many as 3,000 people are expected for the day of games (such as the Cake Walk), live entertainment, crafts, face and hair painting, food and drink. Most games are $1 to $5. A silent auction and raffle also will help raise money – the raffle prize is a year’s supply of organic dairy products from Organic Valley. Read the full story

The annual
Children’s Schoolhouse Carnival took over the Village Green Saturday, drawing a crowd of kids and parents to raise money for the pre-school in Huntersville. The day included bounce houses, pony rides, face painting, music and food.
The Children’s Schoolhouse was established in 1971.

HUNTERSVILLE – Alumni of Caldwell Station School and The Children’s Schoolhouse gathered Thursday, Oct. 14, at the school to share memories and celebrated the building’s recent historic designation. The party included people who attended the original school between 1929 and 1931 as well as those who helped found the schoolhouse cooperative in 1971.
The building, at 17616 Caldwell Station School Road in Huntersville, originally was the Caldwell Station Schoolhouse. It recently was designated as a Mecklenburg County Historic Landmark.
