Men in kilts, marching pipe bands, amateur and professional athletic competitions, country dancing and a historic encampment are on the schedule this weekend at the 18th Annual Rural Hill Scottish Festival and Loch Norman Highland Games. It’s time for the Spring Book Fair at Davidson Elementary School. From Monday to Thursday this week, you can encourage a child, grandchild or friend to read than by purchasing books at the fair. Lake Norman Chamber of Commerce hosts its annual Business Expo, with more than 170 area businesses, on Friday, March 4, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., at Davidson College’s Belk Arena.
Think of it as a trade show for local businesses. More than 2,000 people are expected at the show, which gives local businesses, non-profits and attractions a chance to show off their products and services.

Davidson’s Town Board will hold the latest in its ongoing series of “Commissioner Chats” on town issues on Tuesday, March 1, at 7 p.m. at Ada Jenkins Center, 212 Gamble St.
