Davidson’s Town Board will hold a 30-minute closed session before its regularly scheduled meeting Tuesday night, April 10. The topic has not been disclosed. The closed session begins at 5:30 p.m., and the board “anticipates” returning to open session at 6 p.m., according to an announcement Thursday. (UPDATE: On Monday 4/9/12 the board announced it was canceling the closed session.)

A Peace Corps volunteer-turned-recruiter will be at Davidson College Thursday night, April 5, for an information session about the U.S. government’s international volunteer program.  The meeting will be 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the Sprinkle Room at the Alvarez College Union. Read the full story

The 2012 summer season of the Davidson Farmer’s Market opens this Saturday, April 7. Volunteers were setting up over the weekend for the season-opening market, which will bring more vendors, demonstrations by Chef Vera Samuels, music by Barrie Howard, a Growing Kids Club and more.

The market runs every Saturday, 8 a.m. to noon, through October next to Town Hall in downtown Davidson.

Davidson College’s Environmental Action Coalition will present “Greenstock,” an environmental festival on Saturday, March 31, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., outside Davidson College Alvarez College Union.
