Sophomore forward De’Mon Brooks scored the last seven points in a decisive 10-0 run late in the game as Davidson topped Appalachian State 83-79 in a Southern Conference men’s basketball contest Saturday afternoon in the Holmes Center. Davidson College’s men’s and women’s basketball teams both won on Saturday, and both remained undefeated in Southern Conference play. In Greenville, S.C., the women beat Furman, 61-50, to go to 5-0 in the league.
At Belk Arena Saturday afternoon, Jake Cohen and De’Mon Brooks combined for 53 points to lead the men to an easy victory over Georgia Southern. The 96-74 win lifted the Cats to 4-0 in the league, and 10-4 overall.
