It was the student overtaking the master as Elon coach and former Davidson player Matt Matheny beat the Wildcats and his former coach Bob McKillop. Curry brings the Warriors roadshow to Charlotte

Stephen Curry will be back home Saturday to play his dad’s team, the Charlotte Bobcats. The former Wildcat would have been playing in Charlotte as part of the Southern Conference tournament if he hadn’t gone pro in the spring. Instead, he is in town as a rookie star for the NBA, averaging 15.6 points per game and leading his team in assists.

Wildcats fend off late run by Furman, 61-58

Kuhlman leads Davidson over Georgia Southern, 84-74

Georgia Southern’s stubborn full-court press kept Davidson on its heels for most of the way, but JP Kuhlman led four men in double figures to help the Wildcats pull out a 84-74 victory Saturday night at Belk Arena.
Also, the women’s basketball easily defeated UNC Greensboro behind the 25 points of Ashley Lax.
