Andrew Courman led Lenoir-Rhyne with 140 rushing yards, and the Bears ran for 370 as a team to post a 42-0 football victory over Davidson Saturday afternoon at Richardson Stadium.
The Wildcats committed five turnovers in the game, and the Bears took advantage, scoring 21 points off of the miscues. One fumble was returned for a touchdown, and Lenoir-Rhyne also blocked a punt, which led to another touchdown. Read the full story

A goal by Yannick Pilgrim just 3:10 into the game helped Davidson College’s men’s soccer team beat UNC Asheville, 2-0, Friday night at Alumni Soccer Stadium. The win in the Davidson Adidas Classic tournament raised the Cats’ record to 2-0. Davidson got another goal in the second half on a penalty kick by Alex Caskey. Meanwhile, the women’s volleyball team dropped its first match of the Wildcat Classic tournament at Belk Arena to UNC Wilmington 3-0 (25-21, 25-17, 25-19), also Friday night.

Davidson College’s womens field hockey team started its season last weekend with a win and a loss in a pair of home games. The Wildcats fell 2-1 to Ball State on Saturday. They came back Sunday to defeat Sacred Heart, 1-0, on Finley Amato’s first career goal. Teammate and goalkeeper Christa Goeke made three saves to ensure the team’s victory.
The next two games are on the road in Washington, D.C. They’ll play Georgetown Friday at 2 p.m. and Cornell Saturday, Sept. 5, also at 2 p.m. (For a team schedule, CLICK HERE>)
