Griffin Lynch
“Griffin is a walking miracle, a trophy of commitment, perseverance, and the faith of himself and his parents!” says Jamie Lathan, one of Griffin Lynch’s teachers at the North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics.
William Lynch and Eileen O’Flaherty of Davidson, after having come so close to losing their oldest son to a brain tumor, are just grateful that Griffin has survived.
But Griffin himself is focused on graduating in June and is a little embarrassed at all the fuss.
“I feel like I’m the least affected person by all this,” he said, shrugging like a typical teenager at the emotional reaction of his family and friends and community. Hey, it was just brain surgery. It’s not like it was some big deal. Read the full story

Less than two years after completing a major expansion, Woodlawn School is launching a new $1 million capital campaign to build a new cluster of buildings and conduct renovations.
The private school on Presbyterian Road also continues to add students and will soon become a full K-12 campus. This June, Woodlawn will hold its first commencement ceremony.
