A driver lost control of his car on Grey Road Tuesday, Nov. 16, hitting several trees and then sliding sideways into another tree. Nobody was injured, but the vehicle was damaged. Incident reports from the Davidson Police Department over the past 2 weeks involved break-ins, shoplifting, and credit card fraud. In one case, two suspects walked into the New to You consignment store on South Main Street and walked out with clothing. Meanwhile, someone used a counterfeit $20 bill at the Soda Shop on Nov. 10. Two men suspected in separate break-ins at South Main Street businesses last fall and this spring have been sentenced to jail time after pleading guilty. Meanwhile, Davidson police and the Mecklenburg County Fire Marshal’s office are continuing to investigate minor fires in Davidson Landing last week. Not too much to worry about this week, but be careful out there, people, especially when circling the roundabouts – last week’s accident reports below included another minor traffic-circle collision on Griffith Street. The Davidson police and the Mecklenburg County fire marshal are investigating a series of small fires that were intentionally set Wednesday near homes at Davidson Landing, on Lake Norman and off I-77 Exit 30. Investigators are seeking help finding a woman who was seen near the locations of the fires that day.

Updated 10:07 a.m.Davidson Police are seeking information about a red truck parked in the driveway of one of several homes hit in during series of daytime burglaries Monday in the McConnell and Hudson Place neighborhoods. Nearly $20,000 in electronics and jewelry was taken. Meanwhile, police also are investigating the theft of $6,000 in cable networking equipment from a Time Warner Cable outdoor box on Summers Walk Boulevard early Saturday. Davidson police are investigating at least three reports of daytime burglaries on Monday at homes in neighborhoods off Concord Road. Two homes were on Ashby Drive in the McConnell neighborhood and one on Hudson Place.
