The owner of the Creole House restaurant on North Main Street in Cornelius was arrested on drug charges Tuesday afternoon after an undercover Cornelius police officer bought drugs at the restaurant. Police arrest man at Creole House
CORNELIUS – Don’t try dining at the Creole House on North Main Street anytime soon. Cornelius police executed a search warrant there Tuesday shortly after 2:30 p.m., and took away one man in handcuffs.
The restaurant was expected to remain closed Tuesday while police pursue a drug-related investigation.
The investigation brought a swarm of police officers and vehicles to the restaurant, which is at 20517 N. Main St., diagonally across from the Ace Hardware. Read the full story

Two more teens have been charged in connection with a Dec. 5 incident on Pat Stough Lane in which a 16-year-old high school student was critically injured after reportedly falling from a second-story window while at an alcohol-fueled party. The teens – one from Huntersville and one from Davidson – were cited for under-age consumption of alcohol. Read the full story

A minivan went off Concord Road and hit a utility pole around 6:45 Friday morning, pulling down wires and closing the road at the start of rush hour. The road was closed in both directions between Pine Road and Crescent Drive. Read the full story

Police arrested two teens and said they expect to make more arrests in coming weeks in connection with an incident last month in which another teen apparently fell out the second-floor window of a home on Pat Stough Lane during a late night drinking party.
Both men charged were 17-year-old Davidson residents and were at the Dec. 5 party with the 16-year-old victim, Clay Durboraw, a Hough High School student from Cornelius who was critically injured in the apparent fall.
