Did you lose a wad of cash on Main Street Wednesday? Passersby found “a rather large amount of cash” on the sidewalk between Toast Cafe and the Soda Shop around 11:50 a.m. It has been turned in to the Davidson Police Department. If it’s yours, it may be claimed by identifying the exact amount. Read the full story

A landscaping worker was hurt in a two-vehicle accident in the River Run neighborhood around 9:30 Monday morning when he was thrown from the bed of the parked truck he was sitting on. The crash happened on Greyton Lane, off River Ford Drive in the neighborhood east of Davidson. Read the full story

A Super Sod truck heads back north on South Street, passing cars in the school drop-off line, after turning around Friday.
Why was an 18-wheeler turning around in the driveway of Davidson Elementary School during peak drop-off time Friday? The incident backed up dozens of cars and buses queued to deliver students around 8:50 a.m.
The truck was one of at least two carrying lawn turf that used South Street Friday morning to reach the Antiquity Cornelius development just across the town line. That’s in violation of an agreement between Cornelius, Davidson and Antiquity’s developer that promises South Street won’t be used as a construction entrance for the mixed-use development.
