Mooresville police arrested a man who robbed a Mooresville convenience store with a handgun early Wednesday morning. Davidson Police investigated a number of thefts from vehicles and storage facilities. Approximately $6,500 worth of farm equipment and building materials was stolen in one incident, and local residents reported $300 in cash and other items stolen from their vehicles overnight. Firefighters reported only two non-medical incidents this week, even as residents braved icy conditions on the road. Firefighters investigated a suspected gas leak at the Exxon station on Griffith Street and attempted to assist a resident who was locked out of her vehicle. Details on these incidents below, along with a tally of the week’s medical calls:
A Cornelius man was cited for DWI and driving without an operator’s license after overturning his vehicle on Depot Street early Saturday, and icy road conditions caused problems for many motorists on East Rocky River Road. One vehicle collided with another car that had already slid off of the road, causing major damage and sending one driver to the hospital.
