The consulting firm hired by Mecklenburg County to review the county’s 2011 property revaluation will host a public meeting Tuesday night at Cornelius Town Hall to gather feedback from property owners. Voting for the second primary election opened Tuesday morning at 6:30, and polls will be open through 7:30 p.m. Included on the ballot are two runoff elections: One between N.C. Senate District 41 candidates Jeff Tarte and John Aneralla, both Republicans; and the other between 9th Congressional District Republican candidates Jim Pendergraph and Robert Pittenger. 
In a pair of 5-0 votes Tuesday, Davidson’s Town Board approved an $8.9 million general fund budget for the fiscal year beginning July 1 and endorsed a five-year tax-refund package for MSC Industrial Direct Co., which last week announced plans to bring up to 400 jobs to a new “co-headquarters” in Davidson. The board also met in closed session, and ended up putting off a vote on an undisclosed “settlement agreement” that had been on the agenda.
