A 16-year-old Hough High School student was struck by a pickup truck on Davidson-Concord Road Friday morning as he skateboarded near the entrance to the River Run and Bradford neighborhoods. Emergency officials on the scene said he was airlifted to Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte with life-threatening injuries.

The annual “Miles for Marnie” 5K race will require the closing of South Street and a portion of Lorimer Road on Saturday, April 27.
From 7:30 to 8:30am, the town will close South Street from Main Street south to the Antiquity Cornelius covered bridge. Read the full story

Two tractor-trailers wrecked around 5am Wednesday on I-77 northbound south of Exit 28 in Cornelius, injuring one driver and backing up northbound traffic to Charlotte. A sinkhole appeared Monday night on Old Canal Street, one of the main streets through the Antiquity Cornelius neighborhood.
