Davidson firefighters dispatched to I-77 accidents

Davidson firefighters were dispatched to a pair of automobile accidents on I-77 northbound north of Davidson Tuesday afternoon that snarled traffic and sent several people to the hospital. Firefighters help put out 4-home blaze

Davidson firefighters helped seven other area fire departments fight a four-home fire off Poplar Tent Road, in Cabarrus County, on Monday. They also helped Cornelius with an incident at the Foamex plant in Cornelius after a diesel motor overheated. Davidson and Cornelius firefighters were called to the FXI Foamex Innovations plant on N.C. 115 in Cornelius Monday morning around 10:45 after a diesel motor overheated during a weekly test of the plant’s fire suppression system. Read the full story

Emergency crews aid injured horseback rider

Davidson firefighters helped treat an east Davidson girl who was injured while horseback riding on Monday and had to be flown by Medic helicopter to Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte. The call was one of a handful reported over the past week. Read the full story
