Davidson College’s men’s basketball team held off a tougher-than-expected College of Charleston Saturday night to win the Southern Conference championship for the second straight year.

On a list of things that make Davidson unique, you’d have to include Dance Davidson, the traditional dance school started 23 years ago by Terilynne Muehleisen Knox (photo).

The school is a home-grown success story, no matter how you look at it. From a business standpoint, it has thrived and grown. It recently moved to 140 Jackson St. next to the post office, a home that for the first time it owns rather than leases. Read the full story

The Davidson Planning Board voted unanimously Monday to recommend town approval of the proposed Sheraton hotel and conference center off Griffith Street near I-77 Exit 30.
