Davidson's 2007 Civics 101 graduates
A group of 21 Davidson residents (above) “graduated” last week with degrees in a subject they’ve been studying all year – town government.
The town’s first Civics 101 class wound up with a ceremony at the Town Board meeting Tuesday, March 13, where the participants (listed below) got certificates and Town of Davidson T-shirts. Read the full story

St. Patrick will have his day in Davidson with a Greenway celebration and Irish music at Summit. Events to consider also include a new story hour for children Friday morning, a Habitat for Humanity meditation session on the village green Saturday morning (photo above), a chance to work at Fisher Farm park, a sex talk at the college (yes, you read that right) and an organ concert at St. Alban’s Sunday, plus college tennis and baseball. Davidson College played Maryland step-for-step for most of their first round NCAA tournament game Thursday before letting the Terrapins walk away with an 82-70 victory.

Wildcat freshman Stephen Curry scored 30 points, including five off three-point shots, to lead the offense. Davidson, which had been seeded No. 13, ends the season 29-5. No. 4 seeded Maryland, now 25-8, advances to the next round. Read the full story

The Davidson Town Board Tuesday approved a rezoning request for the proposed Sheraton Hotel and Conference Center off I-77 Exit 30. The board also adopted a plan for public art. (See separate story below.) Read the full story
