Fire and rescue units on Sunday night were looking for a man missing in Lake Norman off Belle Isle Drive in the Peninsula area of Cornelius. Crews suspended their search just before 10pm, with plans to resume at 7am Monday. See more on CorneliusNews.net

Davidson College president Carol Quillen told students Thursday night that the college’s decision to make meal plans mandatory was a “business decision” that the administration knew would be difficult to implement.
“We believe that with guaranteed revenue coming in, the dining services budget will be more predictable and able to respond to rising food costs. This was a business decision so that we can continue to provide what we consider to be an essential part of the Davidson experience, so that students and faculty and staff can continue to eat together for meals,” Quillen said.
