To the Editor:
As the President of the Downtown Davidson Inc. and manager of Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream, I would like to acknowledge the many people whose hard work helped to create a wonderful Christmas in Davidson 2009.
I imagine very few people really understand the work that goes on behind the scenes of Christmas in Davidson, or where this wonderful event came from.

Signs go up, first titles announced for new cinema

Signs have gone up on the new cinema in Davidson.
Although there’s still no definite opening date for the planned Our Town Cinemas off Griffith Street, the four-screen first-run movie theater is inching closer to its debut. Exterior signs went up this week at Sadler Square Shopping Center, where renovations are continuing. And the theater has announced titles of the movies it plans to show when it opens, likely in early January. Read the full story

Police seek help finding 19-year-old suspect

Cameron Regnard Stewart
Davidson police are seeking help finding a 19-year-old Davidson man who is wanted on a variety of domestic abuse and other charges. Cameron Regnard Stewart is free on $8,100 bond, and is believed to be in the Davidson or Cornelius area.
Davidson police Detective Steve Ingram said Mr. Stewart has a history of violence, and is considered dangerous. “We’re really trying to get this guy into custody. It’s getting volatile,” Mr. Ingram said Monday. Read the full story

The opening of the 3-day Christmas in Davidson festival attracted hundreds of shoppers and strollers to Main Street Thursday night. The festival continues Friday and Saturday nights downtown. See a schedule of events in The Guide.
