Residents in the River Run neighborhood have complained to the police department about a man attempting to sell meat by knocking on doors. In at least one instance, a resident bought meat from a salesman and later found it was not what he claimed. Read the full story

Police issued 18 citations for speeding on Griffith Street last week. They also handed out another 9 citations to drivers for failing to stop at a stop sign on Jetton Street. Police provided no incident reports since June 23.

Police were stopping traffic around 4 p.m Tuesday at the intersection of East Rocky River Road and Davidson-Concord Road because of a pair of apparently unrelated incidents on East Rocky River: a truck accident at the Cabarrus County line and downed utility lines east of Shearer Road .

Man tries to lure

Davidson police issued an alert Wednesday after a man in a blue truck apparently tried to entice a teen into his vehicle as she got off a school bus. Details below. Updated Thurs., May 21, 2009, 8:20 a.m.

A resident of Stanley McElrath Road, off Davidson-Concord Road near the Cabarrus County line, reported to police Friday that someone broke into his mobile home and stole jewelry, electronic equipment, securities, firearms and other items worth $108,000. The break-in was the biggest of several reported around town in recent days.
The Stanley McElrath Road break-in was reported about 10:45 p.m. Friday. Police said someone appeared to have forced open the front door. The thief or thieves got, among other things, unspecified vehicle parts worth $7,843; a variety of jewelry, including a $30,000 Rolex watch; and financial securities with a face value of $50,000.
