The Davidson Town Board has announced a special meeting Tuesday night at the home of Commissioner Connie Wessner in the McConnell neighborhood. The town says it’s part of the board’s ongoing “teambuilding.”

The meeting is Tuesday,Oct. 2, from 7 to 8:30 p.m., at 219 Ashby Drive.

Town spokeswoman Cristina Shaul said the meeting is a “carryover” from the board’s recent team building retreat in Asheville. “They want to continue working on team-building,” she said.

No other items are on the agenda.

The run begins at 10 a.m., and the feasting begins at 11 a.m.

The Town of Davidson is accepting nominations through Oct. 1 for the G. Jackson Burney Community Service Award, which annually honors a local citizen whose unselfish service has improved the Davidson community. This coming Saturday is one of my favorite events of the year – Lake Norman Beerfest at Kenton Place. This is the 3rd annual event festival and much like the other events that Chris Boukedes from The Galway Hooker organizes, the crowd consistently grows year over year.
