The Stoney Creek Boys from Cornelius will provide the music for Flatiron’s first Fall Festival

For the past couple of years, Davidson College’s Connor eating house and Flatiron Kitchen + Taphouse have teamed for a “Drink Pink” fundraiser for breast cancer research. This year, they’re going in whole different direction – trading a night of drinking for a daytime festival in Flatiron’s back parking that organizers hope will raise more money for the cause. The Flatiron Fall Festival will run Saturday, Oct. 20, from 11 a.m. to 3 pm, out back at 215 S. Main St., Davidson.
Several hundred people are expected at the event, which will feature music by The Stoney Creek Boys of Cornelius, a cornhole tournament, a silent auction, pumpkin and face painting and more. Read the full story

Put on your costume and join hundreds of fellow marchers for downtown Davidson’s 2012 Halloween march on Friday, Oct. 26 along Main Street. The parade begins at 5 p.m., with lineup beginning at 4:45 p.m. at Town Hall, 216 S. Main St.
Davidson’s shops and businesses will be handing out treats along Main Street. The march starts at Town Hall and heads north to to Depot Street.
