Lake Norman Kiwanis Club will host a reception and information session in Davidson Thursday, April 26, to introduce and raise money for a new after-school enrichment program called MusicalMinds that is coming to Blythe Elementary School in Huntersville next fall.

Hundreds of visitors strolled among artists’ booths under a bright sun at Art on the Green Saturday in downtown Davidson. Four artists won awards at the event, and they’re among the booths not to miss on Day 2 of the festival Sunday. Meanwhile, the rainy weather has brought cancellation of Sunday night’s first Concert on the Green of the season, which was to have been a performance by the Davidson College Symphony and Jazz Ensemble. The Antiquity Bridge at the end of South Street will be closed on the Davidson side tomorrow, April 21, from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. for the Miles for Marnie Duathalon Road Race. The bridge will reopen as soon as the race has concluded. Download a copy of the race map (PDF) on the town website.
