Since 1997, the Counseling Center at Davidson United Methodist Church has occupied a small brick house next to the church on South Main Street in Davidson that once served as the church’s parsonage. Stile Antico
The young British classical vocal ensemble
Stile Antico, in the midst of a nine-concert U.S. tour, will make a stop in Davidson Tuesday night, Dec. 13, for a concert at Davidson United Methodist Church. The group performs without a conductor and will be signing a concert of Tudor music for Christmas and Advent from their latest CD, “Puer natus est.”
Tuesday’s concert begins at 7:30 p.m. at Davidson United Methodist Church, 233 S. Main St.

Thousands packed Main Street Friday night (David Boraks/DavidsonNews.net)
What a wonderful way to showcase our town! Christmas in Davidsonhad a marvelous run this year with perfect weather for strolling, shopping, eating, visiting and even voting for your favorite decorated Christmas tree.
Three nights of the sights and sounds of Christmas in Davidson meant talking to lots of visitors, asking about their impression of our annual event and of course, reminding them to look for their faces on DavidsonNews.net. Some photos may run in the website’s “scrapbook of scenes,” but a few deserve special Around Davidson mention. And no holiday season reporting is complete without a mention of the Evergreen Court lights at The Pines.

Davidson police and firefighters are seeking donations of gifts for needy families through their annual holiday Angel Trees, and organizers say the need is greater this year.
The trees, in the Town Hall Rotunda and at St. Alban’s Episcopal Church, are decorated with ornaments bearing gift requests for children and families.

Life Fellowship Church, a large non-denominational congregation that currently meets in Davidson, is seeking zoning approval to build a 17-acre worship campus off I-77 Exit 28 in Cornelius. The $6 million project needs zoning approval, but could be started in 2012, the church’s lead pastor told CorneliusNews.net.

She sat in her mother’s lap like a little princess in her full-skirt white dress. Her mother and father were center stage in the church, gazing at her with deep love and sweet pride. The congregation glowed. She cooed and smiled.
Is it possible that 18 years from now when she graduates from high school, she’ll graduate from church, as well? There’s about a 50/50 chance, according to Kara E.
