Concord Road in Davidson was closed for hours Sunday morning after a driver knocked down a utility pole overnight, reportedly while chasing someone she said robbed her in Mooresville.
An unidentified Mooresville woman struck the pole around 2am Sunday, as she headed east on Concord Road between St. Alban’s Lane and Crescent Drive. She was taken to the hospital with minor injuries, possibly a broken arm, Davidson police said.
Concord Road is closed between St. Alban’s Lane and Grey Road, while Duke Energy workers replace the power pole. Officials said the road could remain closed until noon. It finally reopened around 1 pm.
The woman told police the wreck happened as she chased another drive whom she knew. She said the person robbed her earlier in Mooresville.
The other car was not involved in the wreck and apparently left the scene.
Police are investigating and said charges are possible.
