MeckEd, a nonprofit and nonpartisan group that describes itself as a “champion” for public education in Mecklenburg County, will host a community conversation Thursday night at CPCC’s Merancas Campus in Huntersville. Panelists will include Charlotte Mecklenburg School Board District 1 representative Rhonda Lennon, County Commissioner Karen Bentley and state Sen. Jeff Tarte.
The session will look at issues facing CMS and District 1 in particular, including the growth of charter schools in the area and changes in public education funding in North Carolina.
The conversation is Thursday, Oct. 10, from 6:30-8 pm at the CPCC Merancas Campus, 11930 Verhoeff Drive, Huntersville.
