This morning at 5 a.m. a large group of scouts from Boy Scout Troop 58 in Davidson left for the Charlotte airport to fly to Albuquerque, NM. There members of crews No. 1 and No. 2 from Troop 58 will spend a few days white water rafting and sightseeing while adjusting to the climate and altitude. Then they’re off for nearly two weeks at Philmont Scout Ranch.
Considered the “mecca” of boy scouting, these young men will bring back memories to last a lifetime as will their advisers, John Bragg and Jay Harris (Crew 2) and Chris and Laura Willingham (Crew 1).
The scouts in “Crew 2″ decided to gather at Raeford’s Barber Shop Monday to get buzz cuts, crew cuts, Mohawks or just plain shorter hair! Crew leader and rising tenth grader, Frank Bragg, headed for Tim White’s barber chair while the others fanned out to have Quenton, Thomas, Ron or Ken cut away.
Members of Crew 2 spending the afternoon at Raeford’s included Caleb Readling, Elliott Anderson, Christian Browning, Rob Lewis and Charlie Harris. (Not present were Ian Krebs, Owen Cosgrove and Tyler Smith.)
Later this month DavidsonNews.net will be sure to provide an update and photos of their adventures in New Mexico.
