Hopewell Baptist Church in Davidson will host a free concert with contemporary Christian music this Saturday, June 15, at the Church. Meanwhile, Davidson College Presbyterian Church is offering two summer series, “Biographies of Faith” and “Walking in God’s Way,” about the Ten Commandments.
Hopewell Baptist Church is hosting a Community Concert at the Church Ballfield on Saturday, June 15, at 5:30pm. The event is free and open to children, youth and adults from the Davidson and surrounding communities. The concert will showcase two local contemporary Christian music groups; Relevant Worship from Charlotte, and the Coca-Cola Inspirational Praise Band from Concord. See more in our Events Calendar.

BETHEL CHURCH BIBLE SCHOOL IN JULY
Bethel Presbyterian Church will offer a “Kingdom Rock” Vacation Bible School from Friday, July 19, to Monday, July 22. It’s open to adults and children ages 4 through rising 5th grade.
Vacation Bible School will be held Friday, July 19 from 5:30pm – 8:15pm, Saturday, July 20 from 3:30pm – 6:00pm, Sunday, July 21 from 3:30pm – 6:00pm, and Monday, July 22 from 5:30pm – 7:30pm
A Special VBS Sunday School will be held on Sunday, July 21 from 9:15am – 10:00am.

TEN COMMANDMENTS SERIES AT DCPC
Davidson College Presbyterian Church pastors will be preaching on the Ten Commandments at Sunday services this summer, from June 16-Aug. 18, on the theme “Walking in God’s Way.”
In addition, the church plans a weekly Wednesday discussion where participants can share insights on the commandments and the ethical issues they address. Those discussions, titled “Gathering Around the Word,” are planned at 5pm each Wednesday (no meeting on July 3 or July 17). Questions? Call 704-892-5641

Davidson College Presbyterian Church is offering a summer series on “Biographies of Faith.” The Sunday morning sessions feature a brief study of well-known and not-so-well-known people in history whose Christian faith impacted the world.

WOMEN’S ISSUES THERAPY GROUP BEGINS
A new Women’s Issues Therapy Group will begin meeting Thursday, June 20, and successive Thursdays, 6:30-8:00pm, at the Counseling Center at Davidson United Methodist Church, 233 S. Main St., Davidson.
This group is intended to provide a warm and safe environment for women to come together to explore truth, promote healing and seek personal growth. Some topics to be discussed may include life transitions, conflicts around career and family, learning to set boundaries with family members, building self-esteem and learning to care for the self, healing from loss and past trauma, striving for perfection and approval, accepting love from others and exploring personal spirituality. Experiential techniques such as journaling, guided imagery, music, and art and body movement may be used to enhance the group process.
The group is ongoing with the exception of holidays and will be limited to between 5 and 8 members. Prior assessment is required for entry to group. If interested, contact Christine Wisdom M.S. LPCA at 704-892-6135. Cost: $40 per session
