The National Weather Service has issued a tornado watch for a wide, 65-county area of North Carolina, including the Lake Norman region. The watch is in effect until 10pm Monday night.
The weather service says showers and possibly a thunderstorm are possible this afternoon before 5pm, then showers and thunderstorms likely after 5pm and into tonight.
The heavy rain also could produce flash flooding on some low lying areas. Keep an eye out!
