Piedmont Natural Gas says work on a new gas pipeline at the northern edge and just north of Davidson on Wednesday could be noisy. The work is scheduled between 10am and noon.
Davidson’s town spokeswoman Cristina Shaul said she was been notified by the company Tuesday that the work “could potentially be noisy,” though gas odor should not be a problem as it was when the company vented the pipeline on April 26.
In an email to town board and staff, Shaul said the company told her it would be “opening and closing some valves” on the pipeline just north of Davidson College.
It wasn’t clear what testing or work the company might be doing. A Piedmont Natural Gas spokesman said in an email Wednesday morning he was trying to get information about today’s work.
