Davidson’s Town Board has proclaimed Friday, March 22, as Arbor Day in Davidson, and to mark the occasion, the town will plant trees. The town has created a memorial garden at Roosevelt Wilson Park, off Griffith Street, where a ceremony is planned Friday morning.
The Arbor Day celebration is scheduled at 11am at Roosevelt Wilson Park, 420 Griffith St., Davidson. Four trees donated by Davidson Garden Club will be planted at the event, honoring Silvadean Brannon, Patricia Knox, Ruth Coffey and Mary Stewart Covington.
Citizens also may donate trees for the memorial garden. Planting will occur October through February annually, but donations can be made year-round. Contact Ron McMillan at 704-940-9638 or email@example.com.
