Davidson’s men’s basketball team on Monday night easily won its second straight Southern Conference basketball championship, with a 74-55 victory over College of Charleston at Asheville. De’Mon Brooks was named the tournament’s most valuable player.
The women’s team also made it to the finals, facing Chattanooga a few hours earlier. The Wildcats at one point led by as many as 11, but a comeback by the Mocs culminated in a basket in the final seconds that shattered Davidson’s title hopes.
