“Ken and I have made exercising and staying healthy a priority”, says Stephanie Bloom of Davidson. “Both of our families battle obesity so we shift our schedules a lot to make it happen.”
Sometimes this means bringing Sam, 4, to the child watch at CrossFit in Davidson, on Depot Street.
Stephanie and Ken alternate morning or evening classes to ensure they work out daily and they have Charlie, 7 and Sam, 4, enrolled in at least one exercise activity. The boys love CrossFit Kids, so their parents take them as often as possible.
Sam got his Spider-Man suit for Halloween and wears it often.
“He thinks he is Spider-Man and he is quite strong and agile,” Ms. Bloom says. “He’s the type of kid who is scaling the side of the countertop or on a tabletop.”
One morning before child watch opened at CrossFit, Sam kept busy with an iPad while Stephanie stretched.
“I look forward to going to CrossFit although the workouts are quite hard. It’s nothing but friendly faces and encouraging people.”
“I feel very fortunate to live in Davidson with healthy food options at the farmer’s market and great exercise options at CrossFit. It’s a great place to raise my children.”
