Judging from the number of red bins on the street, there’s some confusion about whether this holiday week is a recycling week. It’s not. But you can put your Christmas Tree out on the street with your trash bin for recycling.
In a note on the Town Website this week, the town says: “For those citizens wishing to dispose of Christmas trees, please place them, along with other yard waste, next to your black trash cart on your regularly-scheduled collection day.”
We’ve seen a few Christmas trees out, along with trash bins and more than a few roll-out red recycling bins. The recycling scheduled may still be a bit unclear since the town revised its pickup schedules Oct. 1. Instead of trash and recycling pickups every Wednesday at in past years, the town’s contractor Republic Waste now collects trash weekly on different days depending on your neighborhood. (See a listing of streets and pickup days (PDF).)
Recycling, using larger bins, is now collected every other week. Here’s the recycling pickup schedule (PDF).
