Historic Rural Hill in Huntersville will celebrate Hogmanay, or Scottish New Year’s, along with a First Footin’ 5-Miler and the dedication of a new cultural center. Festivities begin at 10am at Rural Hill, off Neck Road, Huntersville.
“Hogmanay” is the traditional Scottish New Year’s celebration and traditionally has included a walk around the boundaries of your property. Traditionally, the celebration seeks good crops, good health, and good fortune in the coming year.
Rural Hill continues that traditional every year with its “First Footin’.” This year’s celebration includes the “First Footin’ 5-Miler.” Registration begins at 8:30am. http://ruralhill.net/FirstFootinFive.asp
