A ribbon cutting with college and local officials Tuesday morning formally opened the new Davidson College Store in the former BB&T building at 137 N. Main St.
The new store replaces the Davidson College Bookstore, which had been in the Alvarez College Union on campus. It also incorporates the former Cats on Main shop, which had been in a storefront next door at 131 N. Main St. for the past three years.
The college bought the former BB&T bank building from local investors in December 2010 for $1.25 million and spent much of this year renovating it.
