The Davidson Housing Coalition’s 8th annual Festival for Hope and Housing will fill downtown with bicyclists and festival-goers this Saturday, Sept. 8. After morning rides of 50K and 100K, the festival on the Village Green will included live music, kids’ activities and food from local restaurants.
Marcia Webster, the housing coalition’s executive director, said the festival is open to all.
“People do not have to be bike riders,” Ms. Webster said. “You can come out to the Green and have lunch. We’ve got musicians playing from 11 to 2 and we’ve got kid friendly activities.”
Davidson businesses joining this year’s food festival include Restaurant X, Flatiron Kitchen + Taphouse, Toast Cafe, Davidson Chocolate Co. and Ben & Jerry’s ice cream. Entertainment will be local musicians Rusty Knox, Sands of Tyme, and Billy Jones.
