All lanes of I-77 northbound were closed Tuesday morning from Exit 33 to Exit 36 in Mooresville because of an early morning truck accident. N.C. Department of Transportation said the road could remain closed until 1 p.m.

A tractor-trailer struck a guard rail, crashed and caught fire around 3:30 a.m., around mile 35, according to WCNC-TV, Channel 36. The station said nobody was hurt. (See photos at WCNC.com)

NC DOT said drivers should use caution and posted the following detour:

Traveling north take exit 33 to US 21 north (Charlotte Highway), then follow that to NC 150 West. Then continue until you re-access I-77 at mile marker 36.
