The Lake Norman Sail and Power Squadron holds its last public boater safety training session of the 2012 season this Saturday, Aug. 18, at the Duke Energy Environmental Center. The one-day, 8-hour class meets all North Carolina, USCG, and NASBLA requirement for operation of power-driven vessels.
All boaters under the age of 26 are required to undergo safe boating training before they can legally operate a boat or other power-driven vessel in North Carolina. After 8 hours of instruction, students must pass an exam in order to earn certification.

Pre-registration is required for the class, that begins at 8 a.m. at the Duke Energy Environmental Center, on McGuire Nuclear Station Road, Huntersville. Registration fee is $45, and includes a student manual and lunch. Click here to register.
