The Lake Norman U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary offers a training this Saturday in Mooresville, while Lake Norman Sail & Power Squadron has one Aug. 18 in Huntersville.
AUG. 11 IN MOORESVILLE
The Lake Norman U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary offers a day-long safe-boating class this Saturday, Aug. 11, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., at Shepherds Fire Department, 2014 Charlotte Highway, Mooresville.

BOATING CLASS AUG. 18
The Lake Norman Sail & Power Squadron will be conducting its last Public Boater Safety Training of 2012 Saturday, Aug. 18, at 8 a.m., at the Duke Energy Environmental Center, McGuire Nuclear Station Road, Huntersville. The class includes 8 hours of instruction, followed by an examination for full certification. Pre-registration is required.
This one-day class meets all North Carolina, USCG, and NASBLA requirements for operation of a power driven vessel including a Jetski in North Carolina. Everyone under the age of 26 is required to undergo this training before they can legally operate a vessel in the state of NC.
