Police are investigating several thefts this week, including one in which a thief took a $2,100 competition bicycle from a garage in the St. Alban’s neighborhood and another involving $9,400 of jewelry stolen from a residence on Jib Court. A mother reported being assaulted by her 17-year-old son, and an unidentified driver of a 1998 Honda Accord drove over the River Run Golf Course, damaging the course and crashing into a tree. TUESDAY, JULY 24, 8:28 a.m., 600 block of Wolfe Street – Police are investigating a break-in where a competition bicycle valued at $2,100 was stolen from inside of an open garage. The bicycle, pictured here, is described as a Cervelo R-5. The bike belongs to a local triathlete who told police it was taken overnight, July 23. Matthews police have since charged a man with possession of stolen property and the bicycle has been recovered. The suspect was identified after another cyclist spotted the bicycle for sale on Craig’s list and recognized it as the bicycle reported missing in DavidsonNews.net’s July 27 Police Blotter. TUESDAY, JULY 24, 4:39 p.m., 100 block of Kinderston Drive – Police spoke with a woman who reported being assaulted by her son. The 17-year-old male suspect was arrested for assaulting a female and assaulting a law enforcement officer.
WEDNESDAY, JULY 25, 16600 block of Landen Forest Lane – Police are investigating a case of domestic violence in which a 37-year-old male suspect allegedly verbally threatened and physically assaulted his 34-year-old girlfriend
THURSDAY, JULY 26, 8:14 a.m., 200 block of Harper Lee Street – Police are investigating a case of breaking, entering, and larceny from a vehicle in which an unknown suspect stole a $50 handbag and $90 in cash.
THURSDAY, JULY 26, 10:43 a.m., Griffith Street at Harbour Place Drive – A Mount Holly man driving a tractor trailer for International Express Trucking, Inc. was struck on the driver side by a Mooresville woman driving a 2007 Nissan while navigating a traffic circle. The driver of the tractor trailer told police that he had his emergency flashers on at the time of the incident, and both vehicles were traveling around 10 mph. No damage was reported to the 40-ton tractor trailer, but the Nissan suffered $3,000 worth of damage.
THURSDAY, JULY 26, 1:46 p.m., 200 block of Harper Lee Street – Police are investigating a larceny from a vehicle in which an unknown suspect stole a $20 wallet and $85 in cash from an unlocked car.
THURSDAY, JULY 26, 5:34 p.m., 100 block of South Street – Police were told by the mother of two girls that an unknown male suspect in a dark blue Jeep Cherokee attempted to entice her daughters. Officers are investigating.
FRIDAY, JULY 27, 12:08 p.m., 19125 River Falls Drive, River Run Golf Country Club – Police are investigating a damage to property report after someone damaged the golf course by driving a 1998 Honda Accord onto it and crashing into one of the trees that line the fairway. Total damage to the course and its landscaping was estimated at $400.
FRIDAY, JULY 27, 1:22 p.m., 134 Jackson St. – An unknown vehicle sideswiped a Huntersville woman’s parked, unoccupied 2011 Toyota. Total damage to the Toyota was estimated at $500.
FRIDAY, JULY 27, 2:22 p.m., 400 block of Delburg Street – Police are investigating a case of larceny in which an unknown suspect stole a North Carolina license plate valued at $50 from off of the reporting victim’s vehicle.
FRIDAY, JULY 27, 2:23 p.m., 300 block of Jib Court – Police are investigating a case of larceny in which an unknown suspect stole $9,400 worth of jewelry and $5 in cash. The 62-year-old resident told police the theft happened sometime between May 1 and July 27.
SATURDAY, JULY 28, 4:08 p.m., Pine Road – Officers responded to a home after receiving a report of a domestic disturbance. While speaking with the resident, her 17-year old son ran out the back door. He was later located and charged with the theft of $350 worth of jewelry.
SUNDAY, JULY 29, 9:00 a.m., 18600 block of Greyton Lane – Police received a report of property damage in which an unknown suspect drove over her landscaping and other yard structures, causing $2,500 in damage. Officers are investigating.
SUNDAY, JULY 29, 2:37 p.m., John Ross Way at Davidson Gateway Drive – An unknown vehicle sideswiped a Davidson man’s 2009 Honda that was parked parallel to the road. The vehicle was unoccupied at the time of the incident.
