After a gunman opened fire on moviegoers in Aurora, Colo. early Friday morning, Our Town Cinemas announced increased security measures as a precaution.

Jan Black, Director of Marketing at Our Town Cinemas, released the following statement:

We believe what happened in a Colorado theater last night to be an isolated incident. We are sympathetic to everyone involved and their families. We are very aware of the issues and already have security measures in place at Our Town Cinemas that we will continue to enforce.

We are working in partnership with Jeanne Miller and the Davidson Police Department to provide an increased presence around our theater as part of their community service.

We do plan to show our movies as scheduled. We thank everyone for their continued support of Our Town Cinemas.
