Dozens of children and their parents were on the Davidson Village Green Tuesday morning for “Northern Town Folktales on the Green Summer Reading Kickoff. The event included storytelling, music, dance and crafts in front of the Davidson library branch.

Entertainers included Steel Drum Music, Minsky Delmonte, Cara Zara, Hoola Hoop Fitness, Discovery Place Kids, The YMCA, and The Author Squad. The kickoff was sponsored by the Charlotte Mecklenburg Public Library, the Lake Norman YMCA, and the parks and recreation departments of Cornelius, Davidson & Huntersville.
