Carolinas HealthCare System has pushed back the date of a planned community meeting on its proposed behavioral health hospital off N.C. 73 in east Davidson. The meeting is now scheduled Thursday, June 28, at 7 p.m. at River Run Country Club in Davidson.
Organizers had tentatively scheduled the meeting for June 21. But they said CHS needs more time to revise site plans it will show at the meeting.
CHS announced May 9 it plans to build the $36 million, 66-bed hospital on 23 acres in the former Davidson East development, off N.C. 73/Davidson-Concord Road. CHS is buying the site from CommunityOne Bank, which foreclosed on the failed project 2 1/2 years ago. CHS chose the Davidson site after the Huntersville Town Board rejected its plan to build at a site on NC 115.
Here’s an announcement sent out in the River Run community, supplied by neighborhood leader Mickey Pettus:
CHS Community Meeting on Behavioral Health Hospital Rescheduled for June 28th at River Run Golf and Country Club
Carolinas HealthCare System planned a meeting with the Community for Thursday, June 21 back on May 19, at The River Run Golf and Country Club, with the intent to present plans and respond to questions from neighbors. CHS staff have been working diligently to revise the site and building plans, which has taken time to obtain the information on this location (e.g. survey, topo) and to adapt the design due to the different site configuration. They have reviewed drawings and are making progress, but they are still working with the architects on further revisions.
Based on the delays in progress the meeting is now scheduled for Thursday evening, June 28, at 7:00 PM. The River Run Golf and Country Club is providing the meeting place for CHS and the Community. Please modify your plans accordingly if you plan to attend.
