Jan Blodgett and Ralph Levering, authors of the new Davidson history book “One Town, Many Voices,” are scheduled to be interviewed Thursday at 9 a.m. on “Charlotte Talks” on public radio station WFAE, 90.7 FM, in Charlotte. (The program also airs Thursday night at 9 p.m.)
“Charlotte Talks” says the authors “have compiled written history and personal accounts from citizens to create a new book that tells the story about Davidson, and they join us to talk about the history and why their book is just the start of a wider community conversation.”
Ms. Blodgett is the archivist at Davidson College. She first conceived of the book about 15 years ago while participating in an interracial community-building effort called Common Ground. Professor Levering, the Vail Professor of History at Davidson College, joined the project a couple of years ago, believing that it was time for a new history of town.
