The Town of Davidson and athletes from Davidson College are teaming up this spring to host three Family Activity Days, free two-hour clinics teaching skills from specific sports. The first, focusing on football, is this Sunday afternoon, March 18.
In an announcement, Davidson Parks & Recreation says the clinics will provide activities that families can do together. “Parents usually do different types of fitness than their children, making it difficult to fit into the already busy family schedule. Instead of leaving the children behind while you get in your exercise, do an activity together and find that it will go beyond burning calories. The key is don’t call it exercise, call it a family activity,” the town says.
Here’s the schedule for the three family activity days over the next three months.
- Family Activity Day I – Football – Date: March 18, 2012, Time: 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m., Location: Ada Jenkins Field
- Family Activity Day II – Soccer – Date: April 15, 2012, Time: 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m., Location: River Run Athletic Fields
- Family Activity Day III– Volleyball – Date: May 6, 2012, Time: 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m., Location: The Village Green
Parks & Rec asks that children under 5 years of age have full assistance from a parent.
