Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools’ first student-assignment lottery application period for next year will end on Monday, Feb. 13 at 10 p.m. The student-assignment lottery is an online process, with applications accepted on the CMS website daily from 6 a.m. until 10 p.m.
Find the lottery application at www.cms.k12.nc.us/cmsdepartments/ci/MagnetPrograms.
Lottery assignment notification letters will be sent to families in late February. The letters give assignments through the lottery process and provide information on how to ask for reassignment. Students new to CMS in the 2012-2013 school year must have enrolled in the system by Dec. 2 to be eligible for the first lottery. Students who enrolled after Dec. 2 will be eligible for the second lottery, which runs from March 14 to June 4.
If you don’t have computer access, CMS will provide free computer access at the Family Application Center (700 Marsh Rd., Charlotte) and at all zone offices. Computers at these locations will be available from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
