Main Street merchants and Davidson Parks & Rec are planning the annual downtown Davidson Halloween parade on Friday, Oct. 28. The lineup begins at Town Hall around 4:45 p.m., and the march up Main Street kicks off at 5:15 p.m.
Davidson Town Hall is at 216 S. Main St. To avoid confusion and congestion, Parks & Rec officials are asking those walking to Town Hall from North Main Street to use the sidewalk on Knox Court, behind Main Street.
Costumed marchers will head north from Town Hall past the shops collecting treats. Other non-Main Street businesses and local non-profit organizations will also have tables along the route. [Look for DavidsonNews.net out there!]
Meanwhile, every year the Friday march prompts questions from local parents: Does this mean people in Davidson do Halloween that day? Nope. The Friday march is to accommodate merchants, who are open that day and hour. Neighborhood trick-or-treating is still on Halloween, Monday, Oct. 31.
The parade is free. More information: Davidson Parks & Recreation 704-892-3349.
